Creating a food blog
I always thought I would never, ever create a food blog. There are so many out there as it is and chances are our family's tastes are very different from everyone else. However after moving to the UK and craving mexican food like mad during my pregnancy with my son and searching in vain for a good local mexican restaurant, (they really don't exist here, at least not locally) my husband turned to his co-workers for suggestions. Apparently they too haven't had any real good mexican food here either so my husband started talking about cafe rio's pork barbacoa, our favorite when we lived briefly in Utah shortly after marrying, and suggested that that might be fun for them to try. So next thing I know I'm hunting around the UK looking for the ingredients needed for my awesome mock recipe. I used the recipe from several different blogs but of course modified it to meet my family's tastes. My husband is not a huge fan of spicy things so I've had to tone down some of my recipes for his sake. After spending tons of time searching for the perfect recipe I have finally decided that maybe it would make sense for me to compile them all in one place. I started a cook book earlier but this seems to be the simplest way for me to find our favorite recipes and share them with our friends.
